Conferences - Great Job Yellow Jackets!
Thank you to all our students and families for attending conferences. There was great attendance and it was fun to welcome our families to our building.
Wednesday evening our staff was treated to an amazing potato bar, desserts, & drinks. Thursday we were additionally spoiled with homemade tamales, rice, & bean, Taco Box, & more desserts!

It's Aquatics Week at Thorbeckes!
Our students will go to Thorbecks during their PE or Health class to work on water skills & activities! Students will stay in the shallow end where they can touch.
When students have free time, they can pass a test to go into the deep end.
Please ensure your child brings their suit, a dry towel, and a bag for the wet items.

Planning meeting for Family Night November 9th:
Thank you for the great turn out! We had over 20 parents join our meeting! POMSS (Parents of Middle School Students) Meeting - Tuesday November 7th! All parents/guardians/families/teachers welcome to join to help partner and plan fun activities for our Yellow Jacket community! We meet at 6pm @ CMS Commons the first Tuesday of each month!!! Enter through the side door by bus drop off.
Please join us to plan for: Update on school happenings, concession sales, and November 9th Family Night! We need a team to make opportunities happen!

Continue to talk with your child about family expectations regarding behavior at school and in public spaces:
Students gave lots of updates and concerns about their peers and unsafe behaviors this past week
Please monitor social media - fights and supporting of fights are occurring on various social media chats and comments; also bullying is occurring on social media
With continued safe behaviors, we will be able to schedule our first dance of the year! Admin, School Leadership Class, ASB, & ASB advisor will meet and select a date.

CMS Family Night - Sponsored by PoMSS
November 9th!
PoMSS (Parents of Middle School Students) is organizing Centralia Middle School Family Game night. Students attend with their family, families may bring additional CMS students and family with them. ALL Students have to attend with a CMS family to participate in the evening. Order forms will be sent home to pre-order pizza & drinks! There will be lots of different yard games to play and fun games in the gym.

Parents are joining together and providing great dinners for our staff during conferences on Wednesday and Thursday! Thank you to our incredible CMS families!!!
TRiO
TRiO is an amazing free opportunity for our 7th and 8th grade students to identify their career interests and college needs. CMS partners with a Program Specialist from Centralia College (CC) who mentors our middle school students enrolled in the program. Our students have opportunities for career/college activities and field trips! Eligible students may continue through high school and have assistance with applying/paying for college fees, assistance with FAFSA, scholarships and continued activities and college visits!

ATHLETICS - Winter 1 Sports Season Start Thursday 10/19!

Girls soccer season has concluded. It was a great season and watching the girls come together as a team was great. Each athlete showed growth and grit! Great job Yellow Jackets!
